Eating cake could help save lives...

Charity shops are now a regular presence on the high streets of England and are growing in popularity due to general public’s need for quality goods at a lower cost. People are more willing to buy second hand and also more likely to donate their own unwanted goods due to the economic climate.
Our charity shops have so far been a huge hit with members of the public, but recently we decided to try something slightly different and opened up our first charity coffee shop.

Landing Pad, which opened on the high street of Daventry at the end of May, serves a variety of hot and cold drinks as well as sandwiches, cakes and other snacks.
The coffee shop has proven to be a huge hit with members of the public being attracted to the high quality beverages at low costs, and proceeds go towards helping us keep our lifesaving service in the sky.
The bacon sandwiches in particular have proved to be extremely popular with people on their way to work, but the Paninis, cakes and biscuits are also worth sampling!

There are also fresh fruity ice blended drinks in case you need cooling down, but since this hot weather is predicted not to last too long, maybe you’d prefer a cappucino, speciality tea, or everybody’s favourite - a hot chocolate.

We asked members of staff what their favourites are…

Helen James, Digital Marketing Officer: “The mango iced drink is amazing. It’s refreshing and delicious.”

Kerry Burton, Retail PA and Office Manager: “You can never go wrong with the chocolate cake.”

Donna Brittain, Supporter Services Manager: “The coffee is amazing, such good quality – easily as good as any coffee shop on the High Street, and it’s a lovely place to relax as well.”

Don’t just take our word for it… why don’t you pop in and sample the delights for yourself!
